Four Masters GAA

Weekly Notes 5th February 2018

Ladies training times
Seniors Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 -9
Minors Thursdays 8 -9 Four Masters hurling and camogie section are looking for any “retired helmets”! We will gladly accept any old or unused helmets lying around gathering dust. Perhaps your own playing days are over and here’s a great chance to help the future players of the club. Donations will be gladly accepted at training’s or by any coach.

U8/U10 Indoor Hurling and Camogie starting Friday, 10th November in Bosco Centre 6.30-7.30pm . No football boots – wear runners, bring water/€2. Helmets and hurls provided.  Any queries contact Laurence Doherty 0877532705

The u8, u10 & u12 hurlers are seeking players to bolster their numbers. So far the u12 team has fulfilled all fixtures with low numbers and have once or twice fallen short of the official number of 9 but still played their matches anyway. Across the three teams there is a core group of keen hurlers who could do with some help from their fellow club members. The u8 and u10 team play blitzes once a month but unfortunately are also struggling for numbers.

A lot of players in the club have enjoyed hurling in the academy, at school and at summer camps down through the years and would be well able to hurl on these teams. This small group of lads enjoy their hurling tremendously and some help from their fellow club mates would ensure that they can fulfill their fixtures and be a little bit more competitive.

It’s a fantastic sport and helps boys develop hand eye coordination and can improve reaction times which is beneficial to other sports. The risk of injury is no higher than any other sport and it is such an enjoyable and skilful fast game.

All our coaches have coaching certificates and are Garda Vetted with some involved at inter county level also. You can contact Laurence u8 at 0877532705, Fergal u10 at 087344598 and Lorcan u12 at 0871354564

Anam Cara, an organisation that supports bereaved parents, will hold a Bereavement Information Evening on Thursday 8th of February from 19:30 to 21:30 in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. A guest speaker experienced in supporting bereaved parents will talk for about forty minutes. Afterwards there’ll be an opportunity to speak/listen to other bereaved parents or to speak to the professional should you have any questions or concerns. As Anam Cara will need to confirm numbers for teas, coffees, please RSVP to before Wednesday 7th February or call the Information Line on 085 2888 888.

The solidarity experienced by being among people who are bound together by a common feeling of appalling loss is a great help. None of us wanted to be in this group nor would wish it on others but the feeling of understanding – which doesn’t need to be verbally expressed – is a support. We all understand.”

We appreciate your help raising awareness of this free event for bereaved parents. For more information see or ring the Information Line on 085 2888 888.

Take Care
